It all began In 2018. Our founder who loves and appreciates the beauty of healthy hair, decided to embark on a journey of proper hair care. She realized how boring relaxed hair was and decided to have a big chop and go natural to enjoy the benefits and versatility of African hair. This was one of her greatest decisions, but it came with its challenges.
Having dense 4c textured kinky hair, meant management was going to be difficult. She experienced lots of dryness, making her hair thin and prone to breakage. Therefore, combing hair felt like a thug of war.
Because she didn’t want to resort to the existing over-the-counter products that may be filled with toxic chemicals that are both damaging and non-beneficial to her hair, she began to research on natural hair care solutions for her hair needs. With the knowledge obtained, she whipped her first ever hair butter and made a hair growth oil with just a few natural ingredients at her reach. With this duo, breakage was reduced drastically, and hair growth increased significantly. These products gave life to every strand of her hair.
As a growing business, she made a few pieces of these products and gifted a few families and friends. In return, she got many amazing reviews; some of them came back for more and even recommended it to their friends. This led to demand.
Eventually, there was a need to take a holistic approach to hair care to enable her to explore and meet the various hair care needs of her customers. She enrolled in professional trainings and got a diploma in organic haircare from an international Indie beauty school.
